Erica Durance Biography
Born on June 21st, 1978 in Calgary, Canada to a truck driver, Joel, and a local librarian, Gail. Erica grew up with her older brother and a sister on the family turkey farm located near Three Hills, Alberta. After graduating from high school, she moved to Vancouver to begin a career as an actress.
In many of her early roles in movies and various tv shows she went by the name of Erica Parker, this is because she had been married only a few years before. Shortly after turning 18 she married her then boyfriend. Sadly three years later they divorced. Erica Durance made her big screen debut in the 2002 horror movie The Untold and Sasquatch. Other lesser roles included a spot on House of the Dead and the tv movie Devil Winds.
Finally in 2004 she got her big break and was cast as the young Lois lane in the hit tv show Smallville. Despite many hardcore fans disagreeing with the way her character is written she plays the part to perfection. While she was only scheduled for 4 – 5 episodes originally due to her success with the fan base, she was quickly made a recurring guest star, with parts in 13 of 22 episodes in season 4.
On January 8th 2005 Erica married another Canadian actor David Palffy after they had been dating for over 3 years. It is believed that Erica and David med while filming and episode of Stargate SG-1. She and her husband just purchased a new house in Vancouver where they both live and work to this day.
